Main Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient administrative support to the HR department, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely process execution.
  • Manage all people-related matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and welfare assessments.
  • Review and revise job descriptions to ensure alignment with actual job roles.
  • Offer guidance and support to managers on recruitment processes and interview techniques.
  • Oversee annual HR activities such as performance evaluations and appraisals, providing training where necessary.
  • Regularly update HR policies and the Staff Handbook to maintain compliance with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with the Head of HR and Directors to assess learning and development needs, suggesting appropriate solutions.
  • Support the HR team by aligning with the company's values and culture.
  • Contribute to various HR projects and initiatives as required.
  • Promote a coaching culture within the management team.
  • Assist in key initiatives such as onboarding, supervisory training, and coaching.
  • Participate in training sessions as required.
  • Follow safe work practices, reporting any issues or risks, and liaising with the HS&E department as needed.
  • Actively identify workplace risks and develop effective safety protocols.
  • Comply with the Company Quality Management Systems to ensure product quality and minimise discrepancies.

General Job Overview

As an HR Advisor, you will work alongside a team that includes a department head, another HR advisor, and a training HR administrator. While primarily based at the Somerset site, you will receive continuous virtual support from the team located at our Suffolk sites.

The department head will conduct regular on-site visits and be accessible via Teams for daily assistance and training.

In this role, you will engage with employee relations and performance management, providing necessary support to management. You will also play a key role in enhancing HR functions, including policy development and implementation.

The HR advisor will ensure timely handling of policies, grievances, and HR-related inquiries, fostering collaboration despite geographical separation.
