Overview
A&P Tyne is hiring an HR Advisor to join the APCL HR team and provide a first-class service to our Tyne site. This role is 100% site-based, working closely with internal teams and on-site customers to manage complex, heavy engineering projects. You will work alongside the current HR Advisor to support a workforce of 300+ team members and partner with managers to resolve situations fairly and consistently with confidence and care.
Responsibilities
- Coach and support leaders at all levels to ensure effective people management across the facility, independently and with impact.
- Manage complex HR cases, including disciplinary actions, ensure robust record keeping, prioritise workload, and identify risks from high volumes of admin and communications.
- Stay up to date with ER and wellbeing topics to spot opportunities for improvement.
- Develop health and wellbeing initiatives, including occupational health and return-to-work strategies.
- Review and evolve HR policies across the group to maintain compliance, consistency, and compassion.
- Interpret employee data to uncover trends and drive smarter decisions for HR projects and continuous improvement.
- Keep ahead of employment law and HR best practices to ensure compliance across the Group by communicating updates to the team.
- Demonstrate grit, determination and influencing skills to achieve objectives; thrive in a face-to-face, on-site environment five days a week.
- Apply proven HR experience in casework, change management, and employee relations with strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Display commercial awareness, a proactive mindset, and a collaborative spirit; communicate with empathy and diplomacy at all levels.
- Review and audit disciplinary matters, grievances, and performance improvement plans to drive continuous improvement and ensure best practices.
- Proficiently use Microsoft Office and interpret People data to identify trends and support retention and engagement strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
- CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent).
- Experience in HR, particularly casework, change management, and employee relations; strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, professional and empathetic approach, with diplomacy at all organizational levels.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail; ability to interpret data to inform decisions.
