£35,000 - £40,000 per annum

8am - 4pm Monday to Friday (needs to be onsite)

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a proactive Human Resources Advisor to join our client's manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will provide comprehensive HR support while functioning as an integral member of a busy HR function.

Experience needed for this position
  • Experience and proficient in using HR databases - GPS oracle and TMS and strong IT skills Microsoft office (Work/Excel/PowerPoint etc.)
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • ER knowledge and experience of case management, best practice, and processes.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing unionised environment is preferred.
  • Good understanding of Employment Law with an up to date and comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law, HR policies and procedures and best practice.
Your responsibilities will encompass
  • Be the first line contact for all employees, supervisors, and site/department managers across the business for all people matters. Providing a professional front-line advisory service that supports employees and managers with HR policy, process, and system queries; aiming to resolve as many at first point of contact as possible.
  • Support the review, update and implementation of existing HR policies and procedures and associated documentation including forms, in line with employment legislation and best practice.
  • Support the preparation of HR policies for employees' access on the internal drives.
  • Support the HR Team Leader in the delivery of a professional, proactive, expert telephone and written ER advisory service to managers across the business, focused on achieving the best outcomes for both the business and our employees.
  • Managing cases such as conduct matters, capability, and other employee relations issues. This may include reviewing investigation reports and complex letters or communications.
  • Responsible for the administration of leavers, ensuring final payments are made and employees complete the exit questionnaire.
  • Responsible for leading and producing the weekly and monthly HR metrics and to provide a comprehensive analysis of the data in preparation for presentation to the Plant Managers' and the Corporate HR team.
  • Responsible for the administration of all leavers, ensuring final payments are made and employees complete the exit questionnaire.
  • Preparation of payroll information, ensuring this is submitted to the payroll team along with the checking of the monthly payroll file.
  • Responsible for preparing and processing periodic bonus payments and pay cycle amendments together with the associated employee documentation and communication.
  • Maintain the efficient system for personnel files, ensuring employment legislation, GDPR compliance.
  • Leading the delivery of a professional, proactive, expert telephone and written ER advisory service to managers across the business, focused on achieving the best outcomes for both the business and our employees.
  • Managing cases such as conduct matters, capability, and other employee relations issues. This may include reviewing investigation reports and complex letters or communications.
  • Maintaining case management records to ensure they are clear, concise and in line with GDPR.
  • Maintaining up to date Employment Law knowledge across the team via internal and external sources, in order to identify best practice/case law relevant to business.
  • Ability to case manage extremely complex, sensitive, or high-profile ER cases, as and when required.
  • Review key learning points from cases/projects and to support changes, improvements and learning activity.
  • Support absence management cases, ensuring that the appropriate Occupational Health recommendations are managed and applied successfully.
  • Support the people strategy and implementation of HR initiatives.
