Overview

We are seeking a committed and customer-focused Housing Solutions Officer to join the Housing Solutions team at a busy West London local authority. This role plays a vital part in preventing and relieving homelessness, supporting residents at risk, and reducing the Council's reliance on temporary accommodation.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
  • Assess, investigate, and verify applications to the Housing Register under Part VI of the Housing Act 1996, in line with the Council's Allocations Scheme.
  • Assess and interview applicants under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996, determining what statutory duty, if any, is owed in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Maintain accurate case records, deliver timely and professional decisions, and work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies, and community stakeholders to achieve positive housing outcomes.
  • Contribute to the delivery of service plans and ensure the provision of reliable data and performance information.
