Job summary

A public sector recruitment agency is looking for a Housing Officer to manage and improve estate services for the community in Brentwood. The role includes ensuring outstanding service delivery, assisting with rent arrears, and engaging with customers of diverse needs. GCSE Maths and English A-C or equivalent
Competent in IT packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work within a team
Knowledge of Orchard Housing Management System
Qualification in Housing Management
Experience in a Social Housing environment
Experience in income recovery and debt collection
Empathetic customer interaction
Accurate casework maintenance
Valid full UK driving licence
Flexibility to work outside normal hours

Role: Housing Officer REF 1656204
Contract Length: 3 months with possible extension
Location: Hybrid/Brentwood – 2-3 days in office per week
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: £25 per hour

Spinwell is recruiting for a Housing Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HOUSING OFFICER

To provide a high quality estate management service; ensuring outstanding customer service and service delivery. Engaging with customers to design services that work for them and utilising resources within the local community to make a real, quality difference to people’s lives.

The post covers a wide range of duties assisting with the day to day management of the Council’s housing stock as it relates to efficient estate management, including rent arrears and anti-social behaviour

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE HOUSING OFFICER JOB
  • To be educated to GCSE Maths and English A-C or equivalent
  • Competent in the use of I.T packages, including word, excel and outlook
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Knowledge of the Orchard Housing Management System.
  • Qualification in Housing Management
  • Substantial experience of working in a Social Housing environment
  • Practical experience of income recovery and debt collection.
  • Ability to relate to customers in a calm, empathetic manner that often has complex needs and circumstances
  • Ability to compile and maintain accurate casework
  • Valid full UK driving licence
  • Willingness and flexibility to work outside normal hours as necessary.
