A legal solutions firm is seeking a skilled Housing Litigation Lawyer for a locum role in South London. This position involves managing a caseload of complex housing litigation including possession proceedings and judicial reviews within a supportive local authority environment. Service Care Legalare seeking a skilled and motivated Housing Litigation Lawyer to join their legal department on a locum basis. This role offers the opportunity to handle a diverse and challenging caseload within a supportive local authority environment.

Housing Litigation Lawyer

LOCATION

South London

RATE

£50ph (umbrella) / £39.76ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £35.48ph exc. holiday pay

CONTRACT

36 hours per week, 3 month ongoing contract

You will focus on one or more of the following key areas:

  • Complex possession proceedings
  • Housing Judicial Reviews
  • Access cases
  • Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and progress a caseload of litigation matters, ensuring cases are handled efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Provide expert legal advice to internal departments and stakeholders on housing and public law litigation issues.
  • Represent the Council in court and at tribunals where required.
  • Draft, review, and prepare legal documentation including pleadings, injunctions, and judicial review responses.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure best practice and high-quality service delivery.
ABOUT YOU
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas: complex possession, housing judicial review, access, or anti-social behaviour injunctions.
  • Strong advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a demanding caseload.
  • Previous local authority experience is desirable but not essential.
