Job description

Working across a 7‑day period Mon‑Sun (3 x 7.5 hr shifts).

The post‑holder will be an integral part of the Ward team and will be expected to enhance the patient experience. The housekeeper will relate to all care disciplines to ensure the provision of a high‑quality and safe environment for service users. This will include cleaning, assisting with meal service, minor maintenance, and any other specified tasks identified by the Ward Management Team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in maintaining cleaning standards on the Ward, including specialist cleaning of surfaces and furnishings, and ensure all jobs on the cleaning checklist are completed.
  2. Ensure general and specialist equipment (e.g., wheelchairs/hoists) are cleaned according to policy and batteries checked.
  3. Maintain all areas of the Ward so they are safe and tidy at all times.
  4. Identify any problems with cleanliness and report to the Ward Manager.
  5. Maintain a hygienic environment, including communal areas and patients’ bedrooms/bathrooms.
  6. Maintain complete confidentiality regarding all patient issues.
  7. Maintain upkeep of patient and ward areas.
