Overview

Veterinary Surgeon – Richmond 24-Hour Hospital, Richmond, South West London. Full-time, 40 hours per week with a 1 in 6 weekend rota. You’ll join a busy 24-hour hospital team managing a wide range of cases—from routine consultations and surgeries to complex medical and surgical workups—with access to in-house CT, ultrasound, digital x-ray, endoscopy, and full laboratory capabilities.

They are seeking a passionate and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to contribute to a collaborative team in a fully equipped, accredited hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a wide range of cases, including routine consultations and surgeries as well as complex medical and surgical workups.
  • Provide hands-on clinical care in a fully equipped hospital and work with in-house diagnostic imaging and laboratory facilities.
  • Collaborate with a team of day and night vets, RVNs, student nurses, and support staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Engage in continued professional development and contribute to the training of junior colleagues and nursing staff.
Qualifications
  • Confident GP veterinarian with at least two years of UK experience.
  • Interest in internal medicine or ultrasonography is a bonus but not essential.
Location and Schedule

The Richmond location offers a balance of city access and outdoor spaces, near Kew Gardens and Richmond Park. The role requires 40 hours per week with a 1 in 6 weekend rota.

Team and Setting

Join a well-established, friendly, and supportive team including 7 day vets, 3 night vets, 6 day RVNs, 2 night RVNs, student nurses, PCAs, and CCAs. The hospital is RCVS-accredited Small Animal Hospital with ECC accreditation and offers nurse training and graduate vet development.
