Horticulture Laboratory Assistant

Our Norwich based client (part of a cluster of internationally renowned research organisations) is currently recruiting for a Horticulture Laboratory Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a temporary basis for approximately 8 weeks, located in Norwich.

Main Activities & Responsibilities
  • Growth media preparation and delivery
  • Restocking sundry items
  • Plant waste handling
  • As agreed with Line Manager, any other duties commensurate with the nature of the role
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Experience of working with machinery/equipment
  • Experience of working with plants
  • Experience of working in a research environment
  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Good communication skills both written and oral
  • Promotes equality and values diversity
  • Willingness to embrace the expected values of the Institute, ensuring it is a great place to work
  • Full UK driving licence, or ability to travel across sites as required
  • Willingness to work outside standard working hours when required
