A well-established domiciliary care provider is seeking a Home Care Assistant to provide support to elderly clients in Newark and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible full- and part-time shifts, with competitive pay of £14 per hour on weekdays and £15.50 on weekends. Training is provided for those without experience.

Home Care Assistant

Small, well established, independent company. We are a friendly team providing domiciliary care to elderly people in Newark and surrounding villages.

Pay:

  • Travel time paid at full hourly rate from beginning to end of shift.
  • Time is paid at full hourly rate from beginning to end of shift (no gaps).
  • £14 per hour on weekdays, £15.50 per hour on weekends
  • Mileage 35p

Shifts:

  • Full time only & Part time available... 20-30-40 hours
  • Alternate weekends required
  • Early shifts 7am-2/3pm, Lates 3:30-9pm
  • Contract guarantees minimum weekly hours & includes 28 days fully paid annual holiday

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to individuals in their homes, following care plans and support from senior colleagues
  • Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. We cover all kinds of support, from housework to end-of-life care
  • Drive clients to appointments or outings as needed
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Valid driver's licence & own vehicle
  • Ability to provide compassionate care
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Basic literacy skills for documentation and communication
  • Experience in care preferred but not essential
  • Must be reliable, patient, happy to both work alone and in a team
  • Experience preferred but not essential as full, paid training is provided. Must have own transport
  • Be within 11-12 miles from Newark
  • Female only due to client preferences
