HLTA/Unqualified TeacherLocation: Alternative Provision - KS1 to KS4, Burnley
Salary: Up to 30,000 (depending on experience)

About Us

The school is a unique alternative provision supporting children and young people across KS1-KS4 who require short-term intervention, respite, or additional support while working towards a positive transition back into mainstream education or onto a specialist setting. Our provision also plays a vital role in assessing and gathering data to support Education Health and Care (EHC) plan applications.

With a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, adventurous activities, and public services, we create engaging and purposeful learning experiences that help our students grow in confidence, resilience, and skills for life.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated HLTA or Unqualified Teacher who is ready to take on full teaching responsibilities. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and marking lessons, while supporting children and young people with a wide range of needs.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering creative, engaging lessons across KS1-KS4.
  • Marking work and assessing progress to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement.
  • Leading both classroom-based and outdoor/adventurous learning activities.
  • Gathering and recording assessment data to support EHC plan applications.
  • Supporting pupils through transitions back into mainstream education or special school.
About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Confident in planning, teaching, and assessing learning.
  • Passionate about making a difference for children who need short-term intervention and support.
  • Flexible, creative, and able to engage learners with varied needs.
  • Enthusiastic about outdoor education and adventurous activities.
  • A strong communicator with the resilience to inspire positive change.

Experience in alternative provision, SEMH, or working with children with additional needs is desirable, but training and support will be provided.
