HLTA / Unqualified Teacher — Start: September | Long-term opportunity

Milk Education are recruiting for a resilient and motivated HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) / Unqualified Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Havering. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young people who may face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, supporting them to re-engage with education and achieve success. The PRU is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment, with values rooted in respect and equality. You will play a key role in delivering lessons in General Studies, Citizenship, PSHE, and Humanities, helping pupils to develop both academically and personally.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lessons in General Studies, Citizenship, PSHE, and Humanities
  • Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a safe, positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies
Essential Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience working with young people in an education, PRU, SEMH, or SEN setting
  • HLTA qualification or experience leading lessons / delivering interventions
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Resilience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
