Overview

High Level Teaching Assistant - SEMH

Salary/Rate: From £110 per day

Exclusive Education are looking to appoint a High Level Teaching Assistant to work within a Social & Emotional Mental Health Primary and Secondary school in Knutsford. This role is for 5 days per week and is to start as soon as possible working full time. The role is to work with pupils within Key stage 1,2,3 and 4 supporting students with Social, Emotional and mental health needs.

You will be working with an experienced team of education specialists whose sole focus is on the Special Educational Needs sector.

Responsibilities

Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs across Key stages 1–4 in a primary and secondary setting.

Deliver high-quality assistance to enable learning, manage challenging behaviours, and support inclusion within the classroom.

Collaborate with teachers and the safeguarding-focused staff to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Requirements
  • Hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification OR childcare experience within the last 2 years (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3) (desirable)
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Have previous experience of working with children in the last 2 years
  • Excellent knowledge of the full curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Previous EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 experience
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Two references working with children
  • Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
