Overview

HLTA - Secondary - SEND - Walsall
A mainstream secondary school in Walsall is seeking an experienced HLTA to join their dedicated SEND team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding role, supporting students with a range of special educational needs while also leading and guiding a small team of teaching assistants.

Responsibilities
  • Support students with SEND in lessons and small group settings.
  • Deliver targeted interventions for academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Lead and guide a small team of teaching assistants, sharing best practice.
  • Work closely with the SENCO to plan, monitor, and evaluate SEND support.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff and parents on student progress.
  • Support behaviour management and promote positive student engagement.
Qualifications and Experience
  • HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience working with SEND students in a secondary setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to manage and support a team.
  • The ability to remain calm and positive under pressure.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people with SEND.
