History Teacher

Location: Gravesend, Kent
Salary: £120 – £250 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-time, Term-time Supply (until Easter break)
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a knowledgeable and enthusiastic History Teacher looking for a full-time supply role? We at GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting for a History Teacher to start as soon as possible at a secondary school in the Gravesend area. This role is booked until the Easter break, with a requirement for planning and marking, so it’s a great short-term opportunity for someone looking for stable, term-time work in a supportive setting.

This History Teacher position offers the opportunity to work in a well-established secondary school with a strong academic ethos and a supportive leadership team.

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and critical thinking across the curriculum. You will join a collaborative humanities department that values consistency, subject expertise, and student progress.

Key Responsibilities for History Teacher:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Carry out full planning, marking, and assessment responsibilities

Requirements for History Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Previous UK teaching experience as a History Teacher

  • A professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
