A local government authority in the West Midlands is seeking a customer-focused Highway Inspector to ensure safety and quality on local highways. Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and ensuring our highways are safe and well-maintained? We’re looking for a customer-focused Highway Inspector to join our dedicated Projects Management team

As a Highway Inspector, you will enjoy a varied and autonomous role, covering the full spectrum of highways responsibilities. From carrying out statutory inspections and monitoring contract compliance to supporting local plans and projects, you’ll make a real difference to the safety and quality of our borough.
Working closely with neighbourhoods, councillors, stakeholders, and delivery partners, you’ll respond to enquiries, identify priorities, and resolve a range of issues to keep our highways safe and accessible.

This is an essential car user role. You will be required to travel across the borough to oversee a range of neighbourhood projects. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle. You will also have access to use of electric vehicles supplied by Solihull Council. Reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled applicants where required.
