Job description

We are looking for an experienced, motivated physiotherapist to join our tertiary MDT for persistant pain in children and young people. You will work closely with the clinical lead consultant and the lead AHP therapist and wider MDT to develop a new service model to support children and their families across Wales who are experiencing persistant pain and dysfunction. Professionally you wil be supported by the principal physiotherapist for MSK and orthopaedic services and the strategic lead, here at Cardiff & Vale university Health Board. This is a rare and exciting role and opportunity to work as part of a large specialist team, working a long side the AHP lead this role will have a varied clinical case load as well as supporting local teams across Wales you will be involved in service and pathway development with some operational responsabilities and . The post holder will be taking clinical leadership in supporting this population of children in collaboration with other AHPs and the MDT drawing on recommendation and best practice guidelines. The post holder will be responsible for providing highly specialist physiotherapy assessment, advice and intervention for a wide spectrum of conditions, including some in-reaching into the Childrens hospital for wales and facilitating discharges from the CHFW and local DH for children who have been admitted due to their symtoms.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the paediatric persistant pain team as a specialist physiotherapist hosted by Cardiff and Value university healthboard, to provide specialist physiotherapy across Wales to children, young people and their families.

We are looking for an experienced physiotherapist to work as part of the MDT to provide highly specialist physiotherapy assessment, advice and treatment, as well as providing education and support to local services across Wales.

The post holder will participate in the delivery, planning, development, and evaluation of the service in close liaison with the principal physiotherapist for MSK and the AHP lead.

Successful candidates will need to have knowledge and skills to manage paediatrics patients, experience and knowledge of treating persistant pain patients and complex conditions. They should be able to demonstrate leadership, advanced clinical decision making, problem solving and communication skills and have experience of quality improvement and service development.
