Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and innovative speech and language therapist to join our team in Forth Valley.

The post holder will work clinically and provide a leadership and advisory role for speech and language therapists working in stroke, MDT colleagues and other partners working both in acute and community settings in Forth Valley.

Responsibilities
  • Work clinically and provide a leadership and advisory role for speech and language therapists working in stroke, MDT colleagues and other partners in acute and community settings in Forth Valley.
  • Applicants must have extensive experience of working with individuals who have had a stroke and must be experienced in managing complex dysphagia. They will act independently to provide a full comprehensive specialist service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral and discharge to a complex range of patients referred to the service.
  • Supervise junior SLTs, clinical support workers, assistant practitioners and SLT students.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes for a wide range of professionals and carers to educate carers and significant others in the understanding of the therapy process and interventions relating to the management of patients\' medical and social needs.
  • Travel within Forth Valley and transport therapy materials; willing to visit locations not served by direct public transport routes.

  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery (Forth Valley)
