Highly Specialist Pharmacist Paeds Critical Care/Specialist Medicine

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to join the women's and children's pharmacy team at Barts Health. This post offers an ideal opportunity to extend your expertise in paediatric critical care and specialist paediatric services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated clinical pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. You will work with a team of highly specialist pharmacy staff to deliver patient-centred pharmaceutical care to paediatric patients across Barts Health. You will also support the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, liaising with clinicians and nurses and support the children's services in the effective usage of medicines with a specialty in Paediatric Critical Care and paediatric specialist medicine.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be supporting the Service Lead Pharmacist in leading a team of staff in the delivery of high quality clinical and directorate related pharmacy services to paediatrics, in particular at the Royal London Hospital. The job description is not intended to be exhaustive and it is likely that duties may be altered from time to time in the light of changing circumstances and after consultation with the post-holder. The post holder might be required:

To be the lead pharmacist and manage the professional, clinical and technical input to the Paediatric Critical Care Service (PCCU) and paediatric specialist medicine.

To support the multidisciplinary PCCU team

To be actively involved in developing the PCCU pharmacy service

To train and supervise junior staff in paediatric services

To be the ward pharmacist and lead development of services for PCCU

To lead the development of pharmacy services to the paediatric specialist medicine team including pain, neurology, immunology, antimicrobial and theatres
