Job description
Overview

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Cardiac Physiology Team at NHS Forth Valley. We are looking for an additional Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist to join our friendly and experienced Echocardiography team.

The Cardiac Imaging and Physiology service includes TTE, TOE, Stress Echo and Contrast/Bubble studies, with a multimodality imaging service including CT coronary angiography and developing cardiac MRI. The service operates within specialised Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Specialised Valve Clinics as well as advanced Paediatric and Adult Congenital areas.

Our unit performs a high volume of studies and supports a broad range of educational activities. The department provides routine diagnostic procedures such as ECG, Holter/Events monitoring, ambulatory monitoring, exercise tolerance tests, and implantable loop clinics and implants. A weekly Echo MDT and a fortnightly CT MDT support ongoing training.

The Forth Valley region offers easy access to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling, with NHS Forth Valley being a modern district general hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and contribute to echocardiography services including TTE, TOE, Stress Echo and contrast studies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings (echo MDT weekly; CT MDT fortnightly) and support ongoing training and development.
  • Contribute to the Cardiac Investigations department activities and Assist in a multimodality imaging service.
  • Support paediatric and adult congenital work where applicable and collaborate with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Specialised Valve clinics.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Degree: BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration as a clinical scientist or AHCS/RCCP registration, and ILS (Immediate Life Support).
  • BSE/EACVI Exam Accreditation and ability to work independently to a high level.
  • Experience in Paediatric and/or Adult Congenital cardiology would be advantageous.
