Job description
Overview

Lady Lumley’s Academy are looking to appoint a HLTA for ROOSE (Educational Provision) to join our team on a temporary, part‑time basis and as soon as possible. ROOSE is a shared educational provision between four Ryedale Secondary Schools (Lady Lumley’s School, Malton School, Norton College and Ryedale School) to support students who are out of education. It operates as a satellite to Lady Lumley’s School and serves a small cohort of students who are out of mainstream education or accessing blended education. ROOSE provides bespoke education packages to help students return to full-time, mainstream education, equipping them with appropriate skills and qualifications. Ensuring progress in Maths and English is vital to life chances and the provision also offers a curriculum menu, including Outdoor Education, Life Skills and Catering, in negotiation with Home Schools.

As a HLTA, you will complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum, contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and academy policies and strategies, and work collaboratively with teaching staff. You will assist with the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources, supervise classes during short‑term teacher absence, and provide support to pupils, teachers and the academy to raise achievement. You will use your advanced knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, and help pupils become independent learners. You will also provide support for pupil welfare and support inclusion of pupils in all aspects of academy life.

Please see the attached job description for the essential criteria and more information on the role.
