Job description

Remedy are seeking a passionate and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a team at a school in Colchester. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the teacher and senior leaders to support the learning and development of students.

Responsibilities of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons to groups of students or individuals as directed by the class teacher.
  • Supporting the teacher with planning and preparation of lessons and learning materials
  • Assessing student progress and providing feedback to the class teacher
  • Managing behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment
  • Providing one-to-one support to students with additional needs, including those with SEND
  • Undertaking administrative duties as required

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working in a school setting, particularly in Key Stage 1 and 2
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Ability to lead and deliver pre-planned lessons to groups of students or individuals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage own workload
  • Experience working with children with additional needs, including those with SEND
