Job description

Wittering Primary School is seeking a HLTA working Monday to Friday, 30 hours per week, on a fixed term contract up to 31/08/2026. The school is part of the Soke Education Trust and works collaboratively with Gunthorpe, John Clare, Northborough, Werrington and Alderman Jacobs Primary Schools supported by an experienced and collaborative central team. In this role you will provide intervention support, PPA and absence cover.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a good educational background including 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above including English & Maths
  • A HLTA or equivalent qualification
  • Recent experience working with children in a primary or secondary school setting
  • An understanding of autism and/or working with children with social, emotional, mental health needs
  • Is cheerful, resilient and enjoys working with children
  • Is flexible and can adapt to the changing situations in a primary school
  • Has experience in delivering learning to groups and whole classes across the primary phase
  • Has strong behaviour management strategies
  • Is a team player, reflective, approachable and kind
