Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Robertsbridge, East Sussex
Type: Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Long-Term Role with Potential to Become Permanent

About the Pupils

All pupils at this setting have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and primarily present with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or associated traits. Many also have additional needs, including:

  • Speech, language and communication difficulties
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Sensory processing challenges
  • Anxiety, demand avoidance, and emotional-based school avoidance
  • Specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)
The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and emotional development of pupils with additional needs. You will lead learning sessions, deliver interventions, and provide in-class and pastoral support, all within a therapeutic and nurturing environment.

Working in close partnership with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams, you will help ensure that each child\'s individual education plan is met with compassion and consistency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities under the guidance of the teaching team
  • Lead small group sessions and whole-class teaching when required
  • Support children\'s emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour
  • Work one-to-one or with small groups to reinforce learning and develop confidence
  • Monitor and record progress, contributing to reviews and planning
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
