A leading education provider is seeking an experienced HLTA in Barking & Dagenham to support students with special educational needs in a primary school. This full-time position offers a daily rate between £120 and £140, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping children achieve their potential and possess skills in supporting students with Autism and other learning needs.

HLTA – Barking & Dagenham

Are you looking for a new position as a HLTA in Barking & Dagenham. If so, this may be the perfect position for you. Pertemps Education is working alongside a primary school who are seeking to appoint an experienced HLTA to support students of primary age in their dedicated SEN resource base.

This will be a full-time, long-term position starting immediately till the end of the academic year. There will be an opportunity to go permanent upon review. The daily rate will be between £120 to £140 depending on your experience.

About the school:
  • Mixed community primary school based in Barking & Dagenham
  • Caters for students aged 3 to 11 years old
  • Approximately 450 students on roll
  • Ofsted rated ‘Good’ across all areas
  • Dedicated resourced provision for students with Autism
  • Provides an inclusive, well-rounded curriculum with a focus on emotional wellbeing, character virtues, and academic growth through broad, supportive learning experiences
Key responsibilities:
  • Able to independently lead class teaching
  • Can work with students across EYFS and KS1
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting students with Autism and/or additional learning needs
  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
The ideal candidate:
  • Can work full-time, 5 days a week during term time
  • Can work from 08:30 AM to 03:30 PM
  • Have experience working with students with a range of SEND
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
  • Comfortable working as part of a team and can form relationships
