Overview

Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning journey? Do you see yourself training to be a primary teacher in the future and want to gain valuable classroom experience first? If so, this Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) position could be the perfect step for you.

We are working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Clevedon that is seeking a dedicated HLTA to join their team.

Location: Clevedon, BS21

Salary: £100 - £125 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Part-time, 26 hours per week (Monday-Thursday), Term time only

Responsibilities

• Lead and cover classes in the absence of the class teacher, using pre-prepared planning to ensure continuity in learning.
• Deliver targeted intervention activities to boost pupil confidence and support children with additional learning needs.
• Contribute to extra-curricular activities and provide pastoral support to pupils across the school.
• Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that helps every child reach their potential.

What We're Looking For

• HLTA status or significant classroom-based teaching assistant experience.
• The ability to deliver engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups, and whole classes.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A passion for supporting children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
• A kind, fair, and caring approach that helps pupils feel valued and supported.
