Job description

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic High Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a well-regarded education setting in the Christchurch area.

This role supports learners aged 5 to 16 and offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with an immediate start available.

Positions are available across both primary and secondary age ranges, providing a varied and rewarding working experience.

This setting is known for its warm, inclusive ethos and strong focus on nurturing both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

Staff work as part of a collaborative and supportive team, guided by experienced leadership and excellent resources. The environment is calm, structured and child-centred, ensuring pupils feel safe, valued and supported to achieve their potential.

The working day is 8.30am to 3.30pm. As a High Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, working closely with class teachers and other professionals.

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties and associated learning needs
  • Delivering targeted interventions and supporting small groups or individuals
  • Assisting with planning and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour, engagement and independence
  • Supporting pupils across both primary and secondary settings
  • A minimum of six months' childcare experience
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN needs
  • The ability to drive and access to transport, due to the location of the school
  • A calm, confident and proactive approach

The hourly rate for this role is £13.75 per hour.
