Job summary

A leading education support agency is seeking a full-time SEN HLTA to work in an outstanding primary school in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will support pupils from Reception through to Year 2, focusing on developing their confidence and independence. This role offers the potential to become permanent, provides weekly pay, and includes access to ongoing professional development. Strong experience with SEN is required, along with a proactive attitude and a nurturing approach to young learners.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary setting.
  • Ability to work closely with teachers to adapt learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support pupil development.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN across EYFS and KS1, both 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCO.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, communication, and independence.

Contract: Full time, long term, with the potential to go permanent

Are you an SEN HLTA who loves those lightbulb moments, the small wins, and being the calm, consistent adult that little learners rely on?

We’re working with a genuinely lovely Ofsted-rated Outstanding primary school looking for a full-time SEN HLTA to support pupils from Reception through to Year 2. This is an ASAP start, full-time role with real long-term potential. For the right HLTA, this could even turn permanent.

Your role

We’re looking for someone who
  • Has experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting
  • Is confident working across Reception, Year 1, and Year 2
  • Brings patience, warmth, and a steady approach to the classroom
  • Is proactive, reliable, and genuinely loves supporting young learners

HLTA qualification is ideal, but strong SEN experience and the right attitude are just as important.
