Job description

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

Depot Location: York
Working Hours:
  • GBP17.85 per hour
  • Week 1: 7am - 4:30pm
  • Week 2: 11am - 8:30pm (Saturday morning 7am - 12 midday, GBP26.77ph)
Contract Type:

Full time / Permanent role

Financial Package:

GBP45,250 per annum

My client, a well-established business in the HGV industry, is actively seeking to employ an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter on a rotating shift basis.

Working in an established team, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Carrying out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements
  2. Performing repairs identified during inspections
  3. General servicing and MOT preparation
  4. Fault finding and diagnostics
  5. Updating all required paperwork and databases

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Full industry qualifications and completed a recognized apprenticeship
  2. Detailed knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance
  3. A commercial license is advantageous but not essential
  4. Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, maintenance, and repair
