Salary: £22 per hour (equivalent to £52,624 per year)
Hours: 6:30am to 6:30pm
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a highly skilled HGV Service Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter with proven experience in the commercial vehicle industry. You will work on a variety of heavy goods vehicles, completing high-quality servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter looking for a stable role with long-term prospects, great pay and supportive management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on HGVs to manufacturer and VOSA standards
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Prepare heavy goods vehicles for MOTs and complete safety inspections
  • Assist other HGV Technicians, HGV Mechanics and HGV Fitters with technical challenges in the workshop
  • Attend breakdowns and provide roadside repairs when required
  • Maintain accurate job cards, inspection reports and service records
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety guidelines and company procedures
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Service Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter
  • Essential
  • Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
  • At least 1 year's post-apprenticeship experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter
  • Previous dealership or main dealer experience in commercial vehicles
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Desirable
  • Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence
  • IRTEC qualification
