Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds in Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent required.
• Full UK Driving Licence with Category C entitlement is essential.
• DVSA inspection & testing qualification needed.
• Willingness to train in Electric/Hybrid vehicles necessary.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair HGVs and other Council vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and safety checks.
• Carry out welding, fabrication, and body repairs.
• Respond to breakdowns and accident-damaged vehicles.

Skills

Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering Level 3

Full UK Driving Licence Category C

Knowledge of pneumatics

Knowledge of hydraulics

Knowledge of 12/24v systems

Education

Level 3 City & Guilds in Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering

IMI Level 3 in Electric/Hybrid vehicles
