Job summary

A leading vehicle maintenance provider in Maidstone is looking for a qualified HGV Mechanic to join their state-of-the-art workshop. The ideal candidate will have a City & Guilds or NVQ Level Three qualification, and a full driving licence is essential for this role. Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, repairs of vehicles, and MOT preparation. The position offers an hourly rate of £25.09 and working hours from 9pm to 6am, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Must be a fully qualified HGV mechanic with relevant certifications.
  • A full driving licence is essential.
  • Commercial licence (Class 1 or 2) is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure all parts meet safety standards.
  • Perform general servicing and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Repair and correct defects in vehicles.
  • Overhaul engines and gearboxes as needed.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT and present them.
  • Complete all required maintenance paperwork.

Position: HGV Mechanic

Location: Maidstone

Hourly rate: £25.09

My client, a well-established commercial vehicle repair and maintenance specialist is actively seeking to employ a skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic for their purpose built, state of the art workshop facility.

Key Responsibilities

HGV Mechanic general duties to include:

  • Vehicle Inspections
  • General Servicing
  • Correction / repair of vehicle defects
  • Engine / Gearbox repairs & overhauls
  • MOT Preparation / Presentation
  • Completion of all required paperwork
Qualifications

The successful HGV Mechanic must be a fully qualified HGV mechanic (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three or equivalent). A full driving licence is a must for this role; a commercial licence (Either Class 1 or 2) would be beneficial but not essential.
