Job summary

A recruitment agency specializing in transport roles is seeking a fully qualified HGV Fitter/Mechanic for a full-time, permanent Workshop Mechanic position in Cromer. The role offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:30am to 4pm with a competitive salary of £37,000 plus overtime. Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ and experience in vehicle maintenance and inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on various vehicles.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT tests and perform scheduled servicing.
  • Stripping and rebuilding components as necessary.

Are you a fully qualified HGV Fitter/Mechanic/Technician living in the Elland area looking for a workshop based role?

Are you looking for a Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4pm shift?

Salary: £37,000 plus overtime

Full time, permanent position

The role of the Workshop Mechanic:

You will be working on a variety of tractor and trailer units of differing makes and models, RCV’s, gritters, sweepers, ground service equipment, fleet distribution tugs, diggers etc. You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet and you can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment.

The type of work as a Workshop Mechanic you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to):

  • Routine (and preventative) maintenance
  • MOT preparation
  • Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
  • 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
  • Stripping and rebuilding
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
Requirements for this Workshop Mechanic position:
  • Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
  • Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable but not essential.
