Job summary

A family-owned Builders Merchant in the North West is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Hiab Driver to ensure the safe delivery of building materials. The position offers a competitive salary of £15.45 per hour, along with 21 days holiday plus bank holidays and a pension scheme. Responsibilities include maintaining the vehicle, reporting defects, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a valid CPC card and have a flexible attitude. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with regular Saturday mornings.

Job Title: HGV Class 2 Hiab Driver

Location: Prenton, Wirral

Salary: £15.45 per hour plus overtime paid at time and a half

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:15am to 4:15pm (40 hours paid) plus regular Saturday mornings 8:00am to 12:30pm (paid at time and a half)

Chestnut Building Centres are a family owned independent Builders Merchant supplying a wide range of quality products at competitive prices to both trade and the public. We are looking for a proactive and experienced HGV Driver to deliver general building, roofing and timber materials in and around the North West.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe delivery of general building, roofing and timber materials from our Liverpool Branch to customers in and around the North West
• Ensure company vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
• Promptly report any identified defects to the Transport Manager
• Maintain a polite and courteous manner when dealing with customers
• Unload delivery vehicles when required
• Maintain standards of cleanliness and safety within the working environment
• Ensure paperwork is accurate and signatures are obtained when required
• Undertake any reasonable task from time to time at the Branch Manager's request as may be deemed appropriate within the scope of the post

Requirements

• An experienced HGV Class 2 Driver
• Current CPC card
• Hiab experience is preferred (training available)
• A flexible 'can-do' attitude
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Able to work effectively in a team or alone under own initiative
• A good communicator
