Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Eastwood is looking for a Class 1 HGV Driver for ongoing work with the potential for a permanent position. You will be responsible for delivering palatized goods with 1-3 drops per shift and engaging positively with customers. Candidates must have a full UK Drivers Licence with C+E entitlement and 12 months experience driving articulated lorries. The pay rate is £16.50 per hour, with 28 days of holiday pro rata, and shifts typically start at 06:00, lasting around 10 hours.

As a Class 1 HGV Driver your responsibilities will be to deliver palatized goods making 1-3 drops per shift in a curtain sided vehicle. Due to the nature of this role it is required that you have experience with side curtained vehicles as well as interacting and being good with customers.

Duration: Ongoing work with opportunity for permanent role.

Contract Type: Permanent

Hourly Rate: The Pay rate for this position is £16.50 per hour with 28 days of holiday pro rota. Or £19.96 via umbrella

Working Hours: Working days are Monday to Friday with your shifts usually starting at 06:00. Average working day is 10 hours.

Experience & Qualifications

To be considered for this role applicants must have the following:

• Have a full UK Drivers Licence with a C+E entitlement.
• Have a minimum of 12 months continuous experience driving articulated lorries in the UK
• Have no more than 6 points on your Licence
• Have a strong and coherent understanding of driver’s working hours and working time directive.
• Have a Digital Tacho Card (Digicard)
• Have a valid Driver CPC Card
