Qualifications

  • Proven Technician experience working on a range of vehicles.
  • Holds a full manual UK driving licence, preferably with HGV experience.

Are you looking for stability and variety in your next move? Join the largest, and greenest, fleet operator in the UK and take on a new challenge in a commercial vehicle workshop environment.

We're recruiting an IMI Level 3 qualified Heavy mechanic at Preston Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £70k per annum including overtime (shift depending).

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00 - 14:30, week 2: 6:00 - 14:30, and week 3: 13:00 - 21:30. You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays and Sundays (with two days off in the week).

We also have a permanent Night Shift Available.

Salary: £38,114 plus a shift allowance of £84.06 per week when working the 13:00 - 21:30 shift. The Night shift attracts a weekly shift allowance of £126.06. Additional weekend supplement on Saturday (£50 per shift) /or Sunday (£100 per shift) is applicable.

You may be eligible for a welcome bonus of £1,500*.

  • You'll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
  • You'll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
  • You'll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.
A bit about you
  • Qualified mechanic: you're fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Heavy vehicle maintenance or equivalent) You've got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
  • Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles.
  • Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
  • High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
  • Flexible to service demands: you're able to work on a flexible shift rota. You're always willing to support your team where necessary.
