Healthcare Support Assistant - School Setting (1:1 Role)

We are working with a supportive and inclusive school that is seeking an experienced Healthcare Support Assistant to provide 1:1 care for a learner with high medical needs within the school environment.

This is a vital and rewarding role, supporting child to access education safely, comfortably, and with dignity, while working closely with teaching staff and healthcare professionals.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 healthcare and personal care support throughout the school day

  • Support a learner with complex and high medical needs in line with individual care plans

  • Monitor the child's health, wellbeing, and medical requirements

  • Administer care as trained and directed by healthcare professionals

  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with school staff and parents

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting individuals with complex or high medical needs (essential)

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, SEN, or school-based setting

  • Calm, compassionate, and reliable approach

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality

  • Willingness to undertake training specific to the learner's needs

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
