Job description
Overview

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a major provider of integrated hospital and community services for people living in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding area. Amersham Hospital is one of several Community Hospitals within the Trust, with three inpatient areas: Chartridge Ward, Waterside Unit, and Buckinghamshire Neuro Rehabilitation Unit. We are looking to appoint new Healthcare Assistants to join our team on Waterside Unit.

Waterside Unit is a 21-bed ward within the Integrated Elderly Care Division. We care for individuals who are medically optimised and requiring a period of rehabilitation prior to discharge home with support if required or a placement in a Nursing or Residential Home. Our patients often have multiple health needs and chronic conditions.

You will need to have excellent communication and inter-personal skills, the ability to work both within a team and independently, and the ability to offer a high level of nursing care. You will be required to have a good standard of English and numeracy and a passion for looking after older people. Training and clinical supervision opportunities are available to the successful candidates.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a numeracy and literacy competency test. If standards are met, you will be interviewed. This process helps identify whether we are the right employer for you and whether you are the right candidate for us.

Working on Waterside Unit you will be working closely with a large multi-disciplinary team consisting of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, pharmacists, social workers and discharge coordinators.
