Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a major provider of integrated hospital and community services for people in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding area. Amersham Hospital is one of several Community Hospitals within the Trust, with three inpatient areas: Chartridge Ward, Waterside Unit, and Buckinghamshire Neuro Rehabilitation Unit. We are looking to appoint new Healthcare Assistants to join the Waterside Unit.
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals with excellent communication skills. A good standard of English and numeracy, and a passion for looking after older people, are required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a numeracy and literacy competency test; successful candidates will be interviewed. This process helps identify whether the employer and candidate are the right fit.
Waterside Unit is a 21-bed ward within the Integrated Elderly Care Division. We care for medically optimised patients requiring rehabilitation prior to discharge home (with support if needed) or transfer to a Nursing or Residential Home. Patients often have multiple health needs and chronic conditions.
Key requirements include: excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team and independently; ability to provide a high level of nursing care. Training and clinical supervision are available for successful candidates. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, pharmacists, social workers and discharge coordinators.
