Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic Healthcare in London delivers world‑class diagnostic and outpatient services across a growing range of specialties including Cardiology, Endoscopy, Gastrointestinal, Neurology, Orthopedics, Imaging, Executive Health Screening and a Private GP service. We are expanding our team and seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support exceptional patient care across our clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient journey by supporting healthcare providers and contributing to the efficient coordination of patient visits. You will work across various clinical services as part of our integrated nursing team, providing high‑quality assistance in treatment rooms, routine procedures, and patient support activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support clinical teams in delivering well‑coordinated clinics and outpatient services
  • Assist with daily clinical tasks, safety checks, and preparation of treatment areas
  • Provide patient care and support throughout the entire care journey
  • Maintain a safe, organised environment and adhere to infection control standards
  • Manage stock levels within clinical departments
  • Contribute to quality improvement and audit initiatives
  • Develop skills to support new and expanding services
Endoscopy Assistant/Technician Responsibilities
  • Provide support during endoscopic procedures under nurse supervision
  • Prepare equipment and procedure rooms
  • Select and check endoscopes and related equipment
  • Assist with biopsies and manage specimens
  • Perform bedside cleaning and safe transport of scopes
  • Monitor vital signs and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols
  • Maintain endoscopy inventory and supplies
  • Demonstrate completed endoscopy competencies
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a clinical environment
  • NVQ in Health & Social Care (or equivalent experience portfolio)
  • Care Certificate
  • Strong time‑management and organisational skills
  • Motivated, flexible, and eager to learn
  • Peripheral cannulation and phlebotomy experience
  • Competency in vital signs and NEWS2 escalation
  • Specimen management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • High standard of spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated confidentiality
  • Confident in chaperoning and escorting patients
Preferred
  • Experience in any of the clinic’s specialist areas, particularly Endoscopy or Interventional Radiology
  • Spirometry skills
  • Gynaecology support experience
  • ILS certification

Must be authorised to work in the UK, relocation is not offered.
