Overview

The team is looking for experienced Healthcare Support Workers who can work flexibly to meet the demands of the service. Applicants should have experience in Mental Health, a good understanding of risk, and the ability to join a strong, committed team at Sherwood Oaks.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care and treatment of patients experiencing an acute mental health crisis.
  • Provide recovery-oriented and holistic care aimed at the patient’s discharge.
  • Participate in training identified to fulfil the role of the Healthcare Assistant, with opportunities for development in different areas of the HCA role.
  • Work a full range of shifts, including day and night across 7 days per week.
  • Develop and maintain positive, therapeutic relationships with patients and communicate effectively with the team, under the supervision of qualified nurses.
  • Work with adults with a variety of mental health conditions and contribute to safe management of static and dynamic risk; assist with daily activities supporting physical and mental health and wellbeing.
  • Identify your skills and how they complement the existing team; contribute to the safe and adaptive running of the ward in a demanding environment.

About Sherwood Oaks Hospital

Sherwood Oaks Hospital has 4 acute mental health wards (2 for females and 2 for males) for adults aged 18–65 with varied mental health conditions in the Nottingham city and wider county area. We are part of #TeamNottsHC, delivering intellectual disability, mental health, community health, forensic, and offender healthcare services across multiple counties from over 200 sites, including community locations, acute settings, and secure environments.
