Job Summary

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our Hospice at Home Team! These are Community roles based from our Hospice in Cambridge, working in patients’ home across Cambridgeshire. We have full and part time positions available and would be happy to discuss working hours as part of the interview.

Job Description & Responsibilities

The Hospice at Home service cares for patients across Cambridgeshire who choose to remain in their own home in their last weeks of life. We are holistic in our approach and the care is tailored to each person’s specific needs. The compassionate team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants provide practical and holistic care supporting patients and their families in their homes. You will work directly and alone with patients and families in their own homes, on a shift basis over 7 days.

Colleagues working within our hospice at home team cover a wide geographical area, from Tydd St Giles in the North of the county down to Saffron Walden in the South, and everywhere in between. For this reason we offer mileage expense rates in excess of HMRC and a lease car option. Flexibility to attend patients wherever they are located is required.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a hospital or community setting.

Position is subject to an Enhanced DBS check with Adult and Child Barred lists.

Salary & Working Pattern

Starting salary of £24,937 with opportunities to progress to £26,598. Salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro‑rated for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, new starters usually commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role, though for candidates demonstrating significant strengths we may negotiate on this.
