Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Cannock Eye Centre for a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant who is looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to work in both an outpatient clinic environment and a fully equipped cataract surgery operating theatre at Cannock Chase Hospital. The Cannock Eye Centre is a unique facility that provides the full surgical journey for patients in one specially designed department.

Responsibilities

All of our patients are seen in the new patient clinic before returning for pre‑op assessments. Following this they return for surgery and then a post‑op visit to check everything has gone as planned. The vacancy gives staff the opportunity to cover all these different areas in one multi‑skilled role. Staff will provide support during general ophthalmology clinics, pre‑ and post‑operative outpatient clinics, carry out basic eye tests on patients and learn how to become a circulator during cataract operations.
