Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join the Jim Shahi Unit – our cardiology catheterisation laboratory suite – under the supervision of a registered practitioner. The role offers an exciting opportunity to gain NHS experience in an acute hospital setting.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Acting always in the patient’s best interests.
  • Protecting and maintaining patient privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Providing individualized care for a diverse patient group, respecting personal beliefs and preferences.
  • Alerting the registered practitioner and/or department manager to any change or concern relating to patient welfare in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking specific clinical skills relevant to the clinical area following training and assessment of competence (e.g., venepuncture, cannulation, escorting patients).
  • Providing enhanced levels of care to patients who require additional supervision and support.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to junior/less‑experienced staff.
