Overview

Job Summary
Old Road Medical Practice is a friendly, forward-thinking GP surgery committed to providing high-quality care to our patients. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate healthcare assistant (HCA) to join our supportive clinical team on a full-time basis. As a healthcare assistant, you will work under the supervision of our nurses and GPs to provide safe, effective, and patient-centred care. You will support the clinical team in delivering a wide range of services, from health checks to treatment room duties, while ensuring patients feel comfortable and well cared for.

Main duties
  • Carrying out new registration checks
  • Phlebotomy and collection of specimens
  • Performing ECGs
  • Undertaking NHS health checks and lifestyle advice (e.g. diet, exercise, smoking cessation)
  • Assisting with wound care and dressings
  • Administering vaccinations (e.g. flu) if qualified
  • Ensuring clinical rooms are well-stocked, clean, and equipment is maintained
  • Supporting infection control and health and safety protocols
  • Updating electronic patient records accurately and promptly
  • Providing general support to the nursing and GP team as required

Qualifications Essential

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent;
