Overview

Working under the direct supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse who delegates tasks to the post holder. The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will deliver high quality nursing care to patients, as part of a team. The post holder is responsible for their own practice, working within the defined limits of competence and within the scope of the role. The registered nurse retains accountability for the care delivered by the HCA.

Hours of work are full time 37.5 hours per week; part-time working hour requests will not be considered. Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality nursing care to patients as part of a team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Work within defined limits of competence and in the scope of the HCA role.
  • Maintain own practice and accountability for care delivered, with the Registered Nurse retaining accountability for the overall care provided.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in interactions with patients and colleagues.
  • Receive daily supervision and clinical training to perform safely, confidently and competently the clinical skills required.
