Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to support multiple projects in the United Kingdom, including Birmingham, Surrey, and Kent. The role involves advising managers on safety responsibilities, coaching teams in Inclusion and Wellbeing, and conducting health and safety assurance activities. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum level 5 qualification, experience in civil infrastructure projects, and relevant technical knowledge in health and safety management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification at level 5.
  • Experience working on civil infrastructure projects.
  • Technical knowledge in Occupational Health Risk Management and Wellbeing.
  • Technical knowledge in Safety Risk Management.
  • Competence in coaching and training.
  • Competence in assurance, audit, and investigation.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body.

Responsibilities

Expanded is a member of the Laing O'Rourke construction group, we are recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to support multiple projects in Birmingham, Surrey and Kent. The Expanded Group provides total capability in the early construction phases of major projects, providing an end-to-end solution or a bespoke choice of services. Backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, we can deliver the full range of piling, precast concrete, post-tensioning and structures techniques. The Health&Safetyprofessionalwilllead and manage health and safety delivery within Expanded and measureHealth&Safetyperformance against strategicdeliverables.

What will the role look like?
  • Provide local advice andsupportnecessaryto assist managers and staff to fulfil theirsafetyresponsibilitiesto the high standards demanded by the business.
  • Facilitateand coachoperationalteams onInclusion&Wellbeingand the respectiveengagementtools, which will allow the team to engageeffectivelywith the workforce.
  • Carry out relevantHealth&Safetyassuranceactivities, providingconfidenceto the business thatoperationaleffectivenessof all relevant processes are being delivered.
