Stirling Council is looking for a Health and Safety Advisor based within the Council's Health and Safety Team.

This is a permanent role and represents an exciting and challenging opportunity for a self‑motivated, well organised individual, who is an experienced Health and Safety professional keen to use, develop and progress their skills as a practitioner within an organisation that is transforming what we do and how we work.

This diverse role requires an innovative forward thinking Health and Safety practitioner who is a team player with excellent communication skills and is influential in their interactions with others. You will have extensive knowledge in the field of workplace Occupational Health and Safety and hold the relevant Health and Safety Qualification and required membership level of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) as detailed in the job description. Plus you will be able to demonstrate where you have driven best practice and improvements in other organisations.

This is a hybrid role with time spent in office, on site and working from home. You will have a hands on systematic approach using the H&S management systems, where you will work pro-actively and reactively within the Health and Safety Team environment as well as providing advice, guidance and support across the organisation. You will also be carrying out functions including, site H&S audits, inspections, spot checks, attending meetings, incident investigations, etc. across a range of Council services with specific support provided in some service areas as required and directed.

You will be a key member of the team in ensuring the continuous improvement of health and safety management across Stirling Council and play an important part in developing and maintaining the health and safety management systems.
