Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the SHEQ team at Lancashire Renewables Ltd working at our Thornton facility.

What youll be doing

The Health & Safety Advisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our employees, visitors, and the environment. The post holder will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous organisational health and safety standards and protocols across all operational activities, cultivating a safety-oriented mindset, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements while promoting transparency and accountability in all health and safety matters.

What you will bring

While we offer and encourage training and development opportunities, the following will be required :

Recognised Health & Safety Qualification - NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent qualification.

Membership of IOSH or IIRSM with evidence of continued professional development.

Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations, standards, and codes of practise relevant to waste management.

Proven ability to effectively organise and lead on Health and Safety best practise.

Knowledge of emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans first aid and crisis management protocols.

Documentation and reporting

proficient at maintaining accurate records and completing incident reports and effectively communicate findings to the relevant.

Strong ICT skills particularly with the use of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel and power point).

Who are we?

Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the Lancashire Waste Contract.

Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual (black bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill.

Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable community waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.

Our employees work in a variety of operations, maintenance, logistics and support roles across our two sites in Leyland and Thornton, actively encouraging internal growth through development and training programmes.
