Duties

• Assisting residents or clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication reminders
• Supporting the development and implementation of personalized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
• Providing companionship and emotional support to individuals under your care
• Ensuring a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Facilitating communication between clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure consistent care delivery
• Assisting with light domestic tasks including meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate records of care provided using IT systems and documentation tools
• Driving clients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation

Requirements

• Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
• Knowledge of care plans and ability to adapt to support accordingly
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with clients and team members
• Basic IT skills for documentation and record keeping purposes
• Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients and work effectively within a team
• Valid driving licence is preferred to support home visits and transportation duties
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar caretaking or facilities role
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and manage daily tasks without supervision
• Good communication skills and a professional approach to duties
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• Desirable: Previous experience in residential, school, or public‑facing environment; basic maintenance or DIY skills; familiarity with safeguarding procedures (training can be provided)
